Dr. Abiyu Getie Nigatu is an Assistant Professor of Accounting and Finance at Debre Markos University, Ethiopia. He earned his Bachelor of Education in Accounting from Adama University in 2008, followed by a Master of Science in Finance and Investment from Mekelle University in 2013. He completed his PhD in Accounting and Finance at Punjabi University, Patiala, India, in June 2025. Dr. Abiyu began his academic career at Mekelle University, where he served as a lecturer from 2010 to 2015. He subsequently joined Debre Markos University and served as Head of the Department of Accounting and Finance from 2017 to 2021. His research interests primarily encompass corporate disclosure practices, savings and credit services, internal control systems, and financial reporting quality
